FRiENDi wins Oman licence

stuff to know:

MVNO is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator .. it resells current telecom services under its own brand

What a joke this piece of news is ..

FRiENDi wins Oman licence

They make it sound like it was an achievement .. what i came to understand from people in the industry is that everyone that applied for a license got it … i am also not sure if MVNOs are the real answer to our telecom needs as a country … its unfortunately true that Oman a country is not competitive in attracting international business because of the state of its telecom infrastructure .. i have a “4mbps” connection but i dont even get 2mbps … the “technicians” have been here to try to fix it .. but they couldnt … the poor guy tried and tried and tried … i actually had to take the day off work to get them to come and fix it .. i wont even get into how i managed to get them to come .. that was a challenge on its own .. so today i settle for paying for a 4mb connection and get 2mb .. i am too scared to downgrade to 2mb and then just get 1mb …

I think we need competition in areas where is not competition … like internet connections … why cant we get that instead of MVNOs ?? i dont even understand why anyone would actually move to an MVNO ?? has anyone ever thought of that ?? why would you leave a real network and move to a virtual one ?? its like saying Nawras/Oman mobile really .. let me put someone between me and them and i will get better service .. does that make any sense ?? and why is such “an exciting time for the residents of Oman” ?? how will they get better services ?? can someone please tell me …

I want to get 4mb when I am paying for 4mb ..

I want better internet …

I faster internet …

I want cheaper internet ..

I want unlimited internet …

Why cant I pay a fixed amount and get unlimited internet ? WHY ?

Why do i have to keep count of my usage ?

I have to make time to monitor my usage and make sure everyone that uses the internet in the house does the same .. WHY ?

ok this has turned into an angry post …

I am going to go have some cold water and get ready to go watch the game … Viva España!
